 Jeffrey D. Urbach, MBA, CFE, CVA, CPA/ABV/CFF 

Founding partner, Jeffrey D. Urbach, has over thirty years experience in public accounting. He has also been an active educator in the public accounting profession. Jeff served as a full time Lecturer at Rutgers University from 1978 to 1985. He was recently invited back as a Lecturer at the Rutgers Graduate School of Business, where he taught one course in the 2010 Spring semester. Jeff has written and co-authored Continuing Professional Education (CPE) courses in the area of business valuations and matrimonial accounting and continues to teach on a national level.

 

Jeff has over 100 hours of formal mediation training and is on the NJ Roster of qualified economic mediators http://www.judiciary.state.nj.us/acms/medr/CV4097W0E.asp

 Pamela Avraham, CPA, RG, CFE

Partner Pamela Avraham has spent over 25 years in public accounting and is in charge of the firm’s personal, fiduciary and estate taxation practice. Pamela has represented many clients in numerous audits with the IRS and the States of NJ, NY and PA. She is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and has used her forensic skills in preventing and detecting fraud in a wide range of industries, including medical and health care practices and staffing agencies.

 

Pamela is also a Registered Guardian (RG) and noted expert in the preparation of guardianship and court accountings. She was the only CPA to be involved with the New Jersey Bar in the writing and revision of reporting guidelines for guardianships.

 

Pamela’s specialties are:

  Aryeh Levy, CPA, MBA

Partner Aryeh Levy, the newest addition to Urbach & Avraham brings with him over 35 years of public accounting experience, as well as a sterling reputation. His specialties include audits, reviews, compilations and other attest engagements including personal financial statements. Those benefiting from his expertise have included, among others, service, distribution, and manufacturing companies, physicians, real estate ventures (including HUD projects), and retirement planners. Aryeh also has extensive experience in tax planning and return preparation. He handles multi-state corporate tax issues as well as complex individual income taxes including taxation of individuals and businesses operating overseas. He regularly consults on various accounting and tax issues with accounting firms around the world.

 

Although Aryeh just recently joined the U&A team he is no stranger to us. Jeff and Pamela have known him, both personally and professionally, for over 30 years. We are most fortunate to have him on board.  

 

 Steven Citron, CPA/ABV, CVA, Tax Manager

Steven has been with Urbach and Avraham for over 15 years. He recently earned his accreditation as a Certified Valuation Analyst. Steven has been an active part of our litigation support team. His forensic projects include: quantifying economic damages from fraud, complex litigated pension issues, reconstruction of accounting records for fiduciaries and valuations of closely-held businesses for estates & trusts and matrimonial.

Steven also has extensive experience with real estate transactions, 1031 exchanges (Like-kind exchanges), step-up in basis for partnership interests, specially allocated depreciation and complicated sales and purchases of real estate. He consults on many complex issues of partnership taxation and the maintenance of partnership capital accounts and basis. He handles multi-state corporate tax issues as well as complex individual income taxes. Some of the complexities include: Alternative Minimum Tax, exercising and selling of stock options and cancellation of debt. Steven is an expert in fiduciary income taxes of estates and trusts.

 

 Ronke Ibironke Macaulay MBA, RN, NP,  Healthcare Consultant

Ronke has a unique educational background, with experience in both accounting and healthcare.  Her proficiency in the area of the Resource Based Relative Value System (RBRVS) enables her to guide medical practices in all phases of the billing and collections process, ensuring maximal realization for each procedure. Ronke earned her certification as a registered nurse (RN) from the University of Medicine and Dentistry in 2001. She then went on to achieve a Master of Business Administration degree (MBA) from Rodgaz Business School in 2006. She worked in the Urbach & Avraham tax department for several years, and recently passed all four parts of the CPA exam.  We are excited about the rich experience and well-honed skill sets she brings to our firm.

 

 Neil Schaum, CPA, Accounting Manager

Neil has been with Urbach & Avraham for more than ten years. He is a graduate of Touro College in New York City with a BS in Accounting. He passed the CPA exam on the first sitting. Neil is our Accounting Manager. He supervises the preparation of financial statements: audits, reviews and compilations. He maintains the firm’s system of quality control. He prepares and reviews personal and corporate income tax returns. Neil works with clients on their tax planning issues. He is well versed in multi-state tax issues for both individuals and corporations.

 

Neil is a certified Quickbooks ProAdvisor. He assists our local clients in the Edison NJ area with the set-up and maintenance of their accounting systems.

 

 Isaac Herzig, CPA

 

Isaac joined our team in 2010 with an MS in Accounting. He came to our new Edison, NJ office with previous experience in corporate accounting. He works in both the tax and audit departments. Areas of specialty include business valuations, estates, trusts, corporate and individual income tax. Isaac performs extensive research on numerous industries for business valuations, ascertaining various aspects of each industry: ease of entry, suppliers, competitors, economic factors, and industry forecasts.  Isaac is also involved in the preparation of audits, reviews and compilations. He has worked closely on a number of certified audits, including audits of multi-entity corporations.

 

 Claire Snow, CPA, CFE

Claire joined Urbach & Avraham in early 2006. She is a Certified Fraud Examiner. She utilizes her forensic skills at U & A in the estate administration department of the firm. She specializes in reconstruction of books and records, and frequently prepares court accountings for executors, trustees and guardians. She also prepares corporate and personal financial statements. Claire has a BA degree from Queens College.  While working at Urbach & Avraham, Claire went back to school to complete her accounting and business requirements. She recently passed all four parts of the CPA examination on the first sitting.

 Patricia Morales

 

Office Manager Our lovely nimble Office Manager, Patricia Morales, began with the firm in 1996. She is in charge of the day to day logistics of maintaining our organized office. Patricia has developed our document management system. She has coordinated an efficient system of scanning all client documents for the last ten years. For many clients hard copies are also kept in our stream-lined storage. When clients ask for prior years’ tax returns, financial statements or documents, she can usually retrieve a pdf and email it within minutes!

 

Patricia greets all clients graciously in our new Edison, NJ office, with a smile in English y tambien con una sonrisa en Espaňol!
